ENDANGERED PANDAS!
The Winchester Group of the World Wide Fund
for Nature (WWF) will be holding its annual walk at Marwell Zoological Park this
year on Sunday, 7th October.
This year WWF are raising funds for the Giant
Panda which is the symbol of WWF.
2001 is the 40th anniversary of WWF
so the walk this year has very special significance.
Nick Rogers is going
to start the walk off officially at 10 a.m. Nick is the World Youth Sailing Champion
and was at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
The walk at Marwell starts from
10 a.m. but walkers may start at any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. but must
finish their walk by 4 p.m.
With a minimum of £10 in promised sponsorship
money (adult entry) or £5 promised sponsorship (child entry i.e. 3-14 years0 you
can enter the zoo free of charge to do the walk!
Proceeds from the Walk
also benefit Marwell. We regret that dogs cannot be brought into the Park.
